🔒••••••••••••
I feel like most people overreact to a value change often, like for example if an item drops from 100 to 90, some people suddenly only want to give like 50 value for it, sometimes less. This is also part of the reason why many people don't like values in the first place, and for mostly valid reasons too. Now obviously we can't control how people react, and it's only natural that we are going to give less than expected for an item that just dropped, but we should still try to be reasonable (especially certain people cough cough). Also many people like to add "oh x is raising, or oh y is dropping" in the notes of their trade ad, and the majority of ads with these kind of notes are pure greed and utterly disgusting to even look at (exaggeration btw I don't wanna see no "just scroll past you take the game too seriously go outside" in this cuz you're literally reading a bloxtsar community post rn. Those kind of additional unnecessary notes only further contribute to the overreaction(I could literally make a whole post complaining about those notes but nty). Obviously I'm not suggesting we simply stop changing values or even remove them completely, as this is literally a value website and even real life has value sites for many items.
Sometimes a drastic reaction to a value change is justified, especially since many items are only high value because they are high value (cough cough mocha cough cough), but most of the time it's unreasonable, as shown by the fact that many items drop just to rise again and vice versa.
Regarding the optimal magnitude of value changes, and how accurate they should be. A lot of people agree that changing the value of an item to the value of the offers it gets within too few value changes skews trader's views of an item inaccurately, but at the same time some people want an item to just go straight to it's estimated value based off of current offers, though mostly only for an item that they have and want to raise, or vice versa. f of current offers, though mostly only for an item that they have and want to raise, or vice versa. Changing values gradually is only the best method because if an item raises to it's estimated value, many traders of said item will suddenly want way more than before, just because of the "value", and since traders who want the item were never willing to give such an unreasonable amount, oftentimes the item will fall into a sort of limbo where people who want it can't get it while people who wanna trade it don't trade it. But this sort of culture is mainly here because of the gradual value changes in the first place, though this isn't a major problem and just something I wanted to add for absolutely no reason.
About the frequency of value changes, I believe that they should probably be more frequent than the 1 batch per 2-4~ days is probably too seldom, since if changes are made in relatively small increments(most of the time at least), value changes should probably occur more often. I'm not saying that the same item should be updated everyday, having an item change value around the current intervals is alright, but some items don't get value changes for a week+, even though their current value is drastically inaccurate relative to the offers they receive, which is mostly not a problem as people trade with reasonable expected values anyway, but some people just won't accept reality and still make unreasonable trade ads. An example in the present, a certain yellow board, is valued at more than double the value of what it receives at the moment, and I still see people who request 120k+ value of stable/raising items for it. And now back to the aforementioned notes "issue", SOME people will say "the item isn't even dropping that much", when it is dropping by that much. Now of course this isn't exactly a major issue as those people just won't get trades and most of them will come to their senses eventually, but it is still not optimal, though obviously nothing really i will come to their senses eventually, but it is still not optimal, though obviously nothing really is. Most value changes don't really effect trades by a considerable amount anyway, and it's actually the other way around, as it should be.
Too much complaining time for some suggestions because why not right? -We should be able to add the "adds" and "tokens" multiple times in an offer just like with the "or". -The "with tokens" feature should be moved to the filters(assuming it works correctly unlike half of the filters last time I checked), so that we can sort tokens in the offers and requests, and include/exclude/require them in the trade ads we want to see. -If someone left a negative on your account and then their account proceeds to get banned, the negative vouch should be wiped. (I'm not sure if this is already a feature, since a vouch containing someone's ip got wiped, but my friend's account still has a negative vouch from a banned account, though the vouch was given in the old trading site.) -Repeated false vouches should be bannable, I am aware it is already in the community guidelines, but I don't really see the enforcement.(Forgive me if I'm mistaken) -We should be able to reply to comments with images -If an item is from a specific pack, the pack should be listed as an additional detail in the item page. -We should be able to put "" around an item in the search bar to only include that item, as most of the time searching that item also includes the skins of that item depending on the name, this was a feature in the old website I'm not sure why it isn't here. Also searching an acronym should automatically only include items of that acronym or an item with the same letters in it, but not another acronym. This is only really a problem for something like glitter bomb, as searching gb brings up like 20 glitter blue spray ads for every glitter bomb ad, but searching glitter bomb is fine too, though that would include skins of it. This isn't a concerni but searching glitter bomb is fine too, though that would include skins of it. This isn't a concerning issue in the present, but depending on what other items get added and etc, it may be an issue in the future especially with the rate at which baddies adds items.
Anyways this post is probably just an essay of absolutely nothing of value(haha so funny🥴🥴🥴, get it? because I'm saying nothing of "value" as an intended pun to the whole purpose of this post{if there is one}, hahahahaa!!!!!! WE'RE so funny right hahahahaaah.... anyways my bad),and I just made it cuz being in school is boring af and I have absolutely nothing to do but hey maybe if you have nothing to do too you'll read it!
